Working in collaboration with St. Rose Dominican Hospital and CCSN,
Clinic On Wheels started serving the healthcare needs of the COWPreK
children in 1996. Partnered with the University of Nevada School
of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, COWMED currently provides
uninsured and underinsured children in Southern Nevada with free
medical and dental screenings, hearing and vision screenings,
developmental screenings, treatment for minor healthcare problems, and
immunizations.
A COW of a different color (white with orange spots),
COWMED’s Making Access Possible (MAP) RV serves the healthcare needs
of at-risk adolescents. Funded by the Task Force for the Fund
for a Healthy Nevada, this bus provides preteens and teens with free
medical and dental screenings, hearing and vision screenings,
treatment for minor healthcare problems, sports physicals, and
prescriptions.
